Recently a reader named Holly shared with me her powerful story of helping another in need. I hope her story brightens your day as much as it has mine!
“I get very upset when no one stands up for someone being bullied or who has been mistreated. Today I stood up to one of my coworkers who completely ignored and did not help a student who, not only was disabled, but was having troubles with the computer. I happened to be behind the student, who was asking the reference librarian “How do I save my tests to my flash drive?” The librarian said the Testing Center should help you; I don’t know how to help you. I immediately, told the student to come with me. I went to my coworker and said “What is going on here? You can’t help this student?” I knew she could, but did not want too. I said to my coworker “Can I go into the Testing area and find her tests that she saved on the computer?” I immediately went to the computer and showed her how to save it to her flash drive and then she was able to submit the the tests to her professor. I was there at the right time and place to help someone who could have failed her test due to a rude coworker.”
